  • The terms are often used interchangeably. Typically, counselling looks at addressing a particular concern within a defined timeframe, whereas psychotherapy (or therapy, for short) is a broader term that can involve a deeper exploration of emotions, behaviours and past experiences, for longer durations.

  • I charge EUR 95 for a 50 minute session. I am registered with the Frankfurt health authorities as a “Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie”. This allows me to work with most private health insurance providers though not public ones. If you are privately insured, please consult your insurance provider to find out their specific requirements for coverage.

  • Currently I do not work with under 18’s however this may change in the future.

  • The first session is about getting to know you and understanding what has brought you to therapy. We will talk about what you hope to get out of therapy, helping to understand your needs. Your personal history, family, relationships, and significant life events may be explored to provide context. I will outline my approach and what you can anticipate in future sessions. The first session paves the way toward a trusting and compassionate relationship which is fundamental to the success of therapy.

  • The frequency of sessions can vary depending on the individuals needs and situation. We will talk about the frequency that is right for you. Studies suggest that therapy is most effective when it's conducted weekly. Therapy is a flexible process and can be adjusted as your needs evolve. The length of time needed to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek support.

  • The content of our therapy sessions is strictly confidential except for certain circumstances. These include potential harm to self or other, child or elder abuse and court orders. Written notes aimed at supporting our work are stored confidentially and electronic files are password protected. Please be aware that email and text communication is not always fully secure.
